PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Manager, Student Information System job is to provide tactical and strategic day-to-day oversight for the Student Information System (SIS) – Infinite Campus and coordinate district reporting needs. This position functions as the team leader of the three SIS Data Processor Analysts for Attendance, Admissions, and Assessment to implement new product features and updates, support district initiatives within the SIS, and coordinate building-level functions within the SIS. This position is responsible for working in tangent with the Assessment & Accountability department in state and federal reporting requirements and systems, including but not limited to Missouri Student Information System (MOSIS) and Core Data collections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tests and/or monitors the SIS to ensure the solution matches defined requirements and expected functionality.
  • Leads the troubleshooting efforts for all SIS components, isolating bugs, resolving issues, and/or providing user training.
  • Ensures data integrity in the SIS by regularly verifying, updating, and validating information.
  • Collaborates with various internal and external parties (e.g. developers, analysts, other district staff, state and/or federal agencies, ) to provide and/or receive information and ensure project success.
  • Collaborates with the I.T. team to communicate effectively with district staff, students, and parents and provide training on the proper use of technology.
  • Analyzes systems and user requirements (e.g., data sources, input requirements, reporting capabilities, workflows, etc.) to create and enhance user-requested features and functionality.
  • Reviews SIS enhancement requests, conducts discovery meetings, and analyzes alternative solutions to meet end users’ needs.
  • Maintains the SIS (e.g., adds or updates requested changes, enhancements, data source changes, creates code, adds additional functionality, etc.) to provide production support and ensure the ongoing availability of information needed to meet mandated requirements.
  • Manage the coordination of system upgrades, new feature management, and evaluation, including risk assessment.
  • Plans and executes annual meetings, such as the beginning and end-of-year SIS processes, training and support, and Core Data reviews, to ensure that all district staff are prepared and following proper procedures.
  • Promotes the innovative use of the SIS to district business process owners to increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in job- related area or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5years direct experience implementing and maintaining SIS software
  • Job-related experience within a specialized field of Student Information Systems, preferably Infinite Campus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Length of work year: 12 months   7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week; 260 workdays
