SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will perform assigned tasks in the cafeteria area in support of school food service to students.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
1. Assist in the preparation of food items as assigned.
2. Handle and prepare food in compliance verbal directions and written procedures, directives and
regulations.
3. Follow verbal and written work schedules including cleaning schedules.
4. Safely operate food preparation equipment.
5. Assist in setting up serving lines and serve as assigned.
6. Assist in cleaning all kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, dishes and dining room tables as
assigned.
7. Strictly observe and practice all rules of sanitation.
8. Follow good safety practices.
9. Participate in In-Service training.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by manager or designee.
11. Follow Federal laws, School Board policies and Food Service Directives.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to follow oral and written directions.
2. Ability to use measuring and weighing devices and count accurately.
3. Maintain high level of personal hygiene.
4. Exhibit initiative in seeing tasks to be done.
5. Dependable, punctual, positive and pleasant.
6. Exhibit ability and willingness to cooperate and work well with adults and children.
7. Institutional kitchen experience helpful.
8. Must acquire food handlers card or ServSafe certificate within 60 days of employment, district will assist with applicable fee(s)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Thirty-nine weeks plus/year-Non contract. Hours may vary from a minimum of 2 hours to a maximum of 7 hours per day depending on the assignment.
