PURPOSE OF JOB: The Seal of Biliteracy sponsor acts as the school site’s point person in all things related to the administering and awarding of the seal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and host Seal of Biliteracy info sessions at the beginning of the school year
- Coordinate and administer LOTE test (fall and spring)
- Support school-wide communication regarding deadlines, volunteer opportunities, Seal requirements, etc.
- Support communication to parents, staff and other stakeholders regarding SoB requirements, deadlines, volunteer opportunities, etc.
- Support 1:1 student communication regarding the Seal requirements, deadlines, volunteer opportunities, etc.
- Assist with the scheduling of student presentations and coordinating panelists
- Manage student data in the share drive to update completion of Seal requirements and scores
- Order cords or other items for graduation
- Coordinate with the Director of Language Services to submit SoB related data such as number of students testing by language, number of students needing portfolios, completed essays, needed panelists etc.
- Attend monthly SoB meetings
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Site-based school personnel, preferably in an ESOL or foreign language position or a school counselor
