PURPOSE OF JOB:
The nurse is responsible for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, documentation and/or referral activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following:
- Serves as the direct link between physicians, families and community agencies to assure access and continuity of health care of students.
- Provides relevant instruction, counseling and guidance to students, parent, staff and others concerning health-related issues.
- Assists with tube feeding, cauterization, required screenings and record keeping.
- Assists the RN in the toileting and feeding of students with special needs.
- Assists in the personal hygiene of students.
- The LPN upholds standards of the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and other state and local statues and regulations applicable to school nursing practice.
- Adheres to District policies and administrative guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the State of Missouri
- Professional experience and competencies necessary for beginning practice in school nursing appropriate to the age group of the children in the school assigned.
- Must be Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
- Must possess CPR and First Aid Current certification
LENGTH OF WORK:
Summer School session June 16 through July 23, 2021
Must be able to commit to the entire 4 weeks.
