PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible for the execution of accounting functions in accordance with GAAP, applicable laws and district policies, procedures, and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
- Prepare and enter journal entries as part of closing out financial periods.
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations. Coordinate with other departments to receive and disseminate information.
- Coordinate with managers of grant programs to collect data required for reporting.
- Assist with the annual audit in compliance with the U.S. Office of Management & Budget Circular A-133. Prepare the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA).
- Assist with the preparation of the Schedule of Selected Statistics.
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report by updating statements and schedules as assigned.
- Assist with audit requests as required.
- Maintain capital asset records in the financial management system.
- Coordinate the administration of the School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC) program.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reading accounting publications.
- Maintain accounting records by keeping information secure and confidential.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing job objectives.
- Cross-train in other functional areas as assigned by the manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA certification preferred.
- Ability to gain proficiency using personal computers and software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
