PURPOSE  OF  JOB: To collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to effectively implement activities promoting student achievement during whole and small group instruction.  Provide language interpretation, translation and support as needed bu stakeholders (school staff and district).

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Collaborate with teachers to implement activities that meet students' instructional and social emotional needs.
  2. Assist students with scaffolded supports guided by classroom teachers to access content using (interpretation, translation, visuals, one step directions, etc...).
  3. Lead small group instruction under the direction of a supervising teacher.
  4. Supervise and adhere to schedules and duties outlines within the building sites needs (hallway duty, lunch duty, bus duty, etc...)
  5. Facilitate communication by interpreting and translating for KCPS stakeholders as need (teacher, parent meeting, documents, etc).
  6. Maintain records, documents and consistently provide two-way communications by sharing information in a timely manner. 
  7. Assist with proactively identifying, screening and assessing English Learners.
  8. Participate in meetings (Conferences, Parent, Teams, PD, etc.)
  9. Maintain and promote a positive learning environment.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

 

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Sixty(60) college hours

  • Possess skills in working with students with their parents

  • Desire to work with children within the (primary or secondary level)
  • Bilingual/Multilingual Skills a plus

 

 

SUCCESS FACTORS:

 

Three (3) years successful experience working with students and parents/guardians 

Coursework in education or practical experience.
