Job Description
Secondary Science Teacher. School District of Kansas City 33 d/b/a Kansas City Public Schools. Kansas City, Missouri.
- Teach science courses to public secondary school students.
- Instruct students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement science presentations.
- Prepare science course outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of state and school. Assign science lessons and correct homework.
- Administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress. Keep attendance records.
- Meet with parents to discuss student progress.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Perform related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assist pupils in selecting course of study, and counsel students in adjustment and academic problems.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Education, Secondary Education, or any related field.
- Requires Missouri State Teacher Certification in Biology (9-12).
- Demonstrated experience teaching in secondary education.
