PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide effective instructional and organizational leadership to Pre-Kindergarten Programs in all areas and activities, and in the development and implementation of expanded Pre-K Programs. The Pre-K Programs Director is responsible for carrying out the vision, mission, program objectives and goals related to high quality innovative, strategic expansion of Early Learning programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises all staff in Pre-K Programs effectively, assigns, directs, discharges assigned responsibility for selection, orientation, evaluation, transfer, reappointment or dismissal of program personnel.
- Evaluates Pre-K Program staff, co-evaluates with school leaders, oversees teacher improvements to goals.
- Designs and implements appropriate organization and management systems, reporting systems, provides oversight of monitoring, record-keeping, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies stated.
- Implements strategic expansion planning and partnerships in response to community and student needs.
- Coordinates instruction, ensures high quality educational programming, supporting curricular program implementation as intended, vertically aligning pre-k program to kindergarten transition and readiness.
- Monitors teaching and learning, effectively planning, prioritizing and analyzing data for instructional improvement, implementing data-driven professional learning and response to intervention.
- Ensures trauma informed, developmentally appropriate social emotional practices and supports.
- Develops & implements effective instructional and organizational leadership and improvements to to progress toward stated goals and objectives in Pre-K Programs.
- Coordinates high-quality expansion and community engagement, recruiting highly qualified workforce.
- Supervises enrollment into pre-k programs, student retention, interfaces with families and community.
- Acquires and monitors funding and budgetary needs for Pre-K Programs, conducts grant writing.
- Manages financial functions and business operations related to the Pre-K programs ensuring compliance.
- Oversees the operations of the pre-k extended learning programs, ensuring supervision, staff, student enrollment and placement, in a business model.
- Prepares reports, drives performance-based metrics and assessments toward program improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field from accredited college or university.
- Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in school administration or leadership.
- Hold, or be eligible for Missouri Certification in early childhood education, Birth - 3rd.
- Experience with program development and licensure.
- Four (4) or more years previous experience with supervisory and/leadership responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Specialist Degree in Education or related field from accredited college or university.
- Previous experience with district early learning supervisory and/leadership.
- Teaching experience in district early childhood, Head Start or Pre-K Program.
- Experience with DAP, PBL, Conscious Discipline, Creative Curriculum, ECH assessments, C.L.A.S.S.
- Bilingual

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: 12 months 7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week; 260 work days
