Program Expectations
Mentor Coordinators based in the school will be responsible for the following:
• Recruit: Make presentations to students about the mentoring program; Hand out permission slips based on students identified in attendance team meetings and receive returned permission slips and submit them to Mentor Program Coordinator. • Support Match: Maintain regular and consistent contact with each volunteer. Provide encouragement, and counsel to the mentors. • Guide Match: Provide guidance and a smooth transition for mentoring matches during difficult periods, such as crisis situations or closing. • Serve Family: Function as a liaison between the parent and mentor as needed. • Monitor Match: Review mentor attendance using internal data tracking system and ensure regular, reoccurring visits are occurring with mentee. Check in periodically with mentee to evaluate their experience and ensure relationship with mentor is developing. • Events: Participate in bi-monthly in person professional development hosted by Mentor Coordinator. Assist in the planning and participate in student and family events hosted by Equity, Inclusion and Innovation. • End-of-Year Closure: Complete all closure process steps securing signed slips from mentors, entering responses, updating match verification roster, etc. • Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other mentoring agencies and the community-at-large.

• Support the Kansas City Public Schools Mentoring program guidelines • Consistently share progress or any concerns with my Principal and the District Mentoring Program Coordinator • Attend monthly coordinator meetings
