Manager, Partnerships and Community Engagement The Manager of Partnerships and Community Relations focuses on improving communication relationships between students, parents, community and civic organizations while increasing the number of opportunities for services to be provided to our constituents. The incumbent shall provide information on services available to eligible students and families; conveying information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures; and referring families to other agencies. Incumbents in this classi?cation provide direct academic support to students and teachers through community partnerships, which directly support learning and seek ?nancial support for educational and recreational opportunities that bene?t our students and families. This includes tracking and securing ?nancial gifts in support of the strategic vision of KCPS; to accomplish this, the incumbent must proactively seek and manage grant opportunities as well as assist in the identi?cation of prospective philanthropic partners across the region and country. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Leads the overall strategic and operational planning of KCPS by increasing partnerships that sponsor educational opportunities which bene?t district students, parents and employees.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with community agencies and organizations.
  • Assists students, sta?, teachers, parents and community members for the purpose of providing and/or conveying information and other services required by parents or teachers.
  • Communicates with parents, school personnel, and philanthropic partners on behalf of the Partners in Education program for the purpose of ensuring that ongoing partnerships between KCPS and the community groups.
  • Confers with teachers, parents and/or appropriate community agencies for the purpose of assisting in the evaluation of the partners program and its impact on student achievement. Coordinates with community leaders and organizations for the purpose of building resources and expanding program capacity.
  • Maintains a data base of parent and community contacts and volunteers for the purpose of developing ongoing communication and ad hoc committees.
  • Works closely with the Education Fund (a nonpro?t supporting KCPS Teachers) to provide resource development including fund raising events, corporate solicitation, grant writing, and other development functions and opportunities that will support the goals of KCPS SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: B.A./B.S. in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution. Considerable knowledge of KCPS policies, procedures and standards regarding education. Considerable knowledge of outside agencies offering support and assistance to volunteerism and philanthropic support. Considerable knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters’ Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, or a related field Minimum of two (2) years of experience directly relating to the above mentioned areas. This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, lift objects of at least ten pounds.
