Job Description:

 

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a creative, highly skilled, and motivated Graphic Designer and Videographer to join the team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the work and possesses a willingness to learn and interact with staff, families and scholars to promote the district’s brand. This position supports the Communications Office, Admissions, and schools in developing and executing marketing, promotions, and programs. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Writes and edits marketing materials on an ongoing basis.
2. Creates visually stunning graphics and designs for various marketing materials, such as brochures, presentations, and social media graphics.
3. Produce and edit high-quality videos to support marketing campaigns and school events.
4. Assist in the management of district and school websites.
5. Develops quarterly social media strategies across all platforms which currently includes Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube.
6. Tracks ROI for social media campaigns
7. Closely monitors and moderates comments across social media platforms, providing feedback that closely supports the district’s mission
8. Assist with the creation and distribution of internal and external eNewsletters and family communication.
9. Covers school events and takes pictures to be used in marketing materials and social media.
10. Assists in the execution of outreach programs to leverage relationships with stakeholder groups.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a marketing or communications role
• Strong writing, editing and project management skills.
• Excellent graphic arts, video production and editing skills (Familiar with ADOBE Creative suite),
• Familiar with website administration and
• Expert social media manager
• Excellent customer service skills in an educational or related setting.
• Capacity to solve problems, stay positive and manage multiple priorities.
• Team-oriented with the ability to see the "big picture;" as well as be professional, creative, positive, responsive and helpful.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.

Length of Work Year: 12 months Benefits:         Health and Dental Insurance are provided.

KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan – mandatory 9.0% contribution effective 1/1/16 is required from employee and matched by KCPS; Voluntary retirement savings plans are also available.
