PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the Director of Pre-K Programs in providing effective leadership and supervision of Pre-Kindergarten programs in all areas of program responsibilities, ensuring high quality expanding instructional programming for children and families. The Assistant Director of Pre-K Programs assists in directing pre-kindergarten programs and services, achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining compliance with established guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists Pre-K Programs Director in supervising, evaluating, observing and supporting Pre-K Program staff as assigned, ensuring communication and collaboration with school and district leadership toward program goals
  2. Assists in effective instructional systems, quality implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment cycles and professional learning communities
  3. Coordinates data driven developmentally appropriate differentiation, RTI, participates on comprehensive student support teams, to ensure appropriate services and interventions provided
  4. Compiles, monitors and analyzes data, creates reports and clerical duties as needed, ensuring regulatory compliance & reporting as required
  5. Supports payroll processes & leave requests, maintaining required classroom coverage
  6. Collaborates with intra-district teams to research, develop, organize and implement and track professional learning for program staff and community partners based as needed
  7. Manages inventory and distribution of resources, orders, materials ensuring needs met
  8. Coordinates partnerships with community programs for high quality programming goals
  9. Manages staffing, training, enrollment & financial operations of pre-k extended learning
  10. Supports financial, audit preparation, and budgetary pre-k programming needs as assigned
  11. Coordinates recruitment and retention of students, families, and workforce, attending events, using digital and print publications with collaborating agencies as needed
  12. Utilizes relevant district software and technology effectively in the performance of duties
  13. Ensures successful implementation of assigned objectives as assigned
  14. Other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  YES

                                                                       

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Master’s degree in Education or related field from accredited college or university
  2. Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in school administration or leadership
  3. Hold, or be eligible for Missouri Certification in early childhood education, Birth - 3rd
  4. Previous experience with district supervisory and/leadership
  5. Four (4) or more years of early childhood teaching experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Specialist Degree in Education or related field from accredited college or university
  2. Three (3) years’ experience in Early Childhood Education as a teacher mentor/coach
  3. Five (5) years of early childhood teaching experience
  4. Experience with DAP, PBL, Conscious Discipline, Creative Curriculum, CLASS, DRDP
  5. Bilingual

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

Length of work year:  12Month   7.5 hrs/day, 5 days/week; 260 work days
